I attended the fifth ACM SIGCHI Symposium on Engineering Interactive Computing Systems (EICS), which was held at City University London between the 24th and 27th of June 2013. This conference is devoted for engineering usable and effective interactive computing systems.
I received the best paper award for my work on role-based simplification of enterprise application user interfaces.
The work presented at this event is part of my PhD on adaptive user interfaces, which I am currently pursuing at The Open University.
I presented the following papers at EICS:
- Pierre A. Akiki, Arosha K. Bandara and Yijun Yu. RBUIS: Simplifying Enterprise Application User Interfaces through Engineering Role-Based Adaptive Behavior. [Best Paper Award]
- Pierre A. Akiki, Arosha K. Bandara and Yijun Yu. Crowdsourcing User Interface Adaptations for Minimizing the Bloat in Enterprise Applications.
- Pierre A. Akiki, Arosha K. Bandara and Yijun Yu. Cedar Studio: An IDE Supporting Adaptive Model-Driven User Interfaces for Enterprise Applications.
- Pierre A. Akiki. Engineering Adaptive User Interfaces for Enterprise Applications.
I also presented the following paper at the workshop on Context-Aware Adaptation of Service Front-Ends (CASFE), which was held alongside EICS:
- Pierre A. Akiki, Arosha K. Bandara and Yijun Yu. Preserving Designer Input on Concrete User Interfaces Using Constraints While Maintaining Adaptive Behavior.
I would like to thank all the organizers and participants for making this event interesting.
I am looking forward for EICS 2014 in Rome.
